A1: Tungsten carbide wire drawing dies are divided into 2 parts. 1. tungsten carbide core, this is the working area of it, which determines the tolerances of wire and service life. 2. Steel case, usually made by 45# or some alloy steel, assemble with the carbide core in interference fit.

A2: For the grades in low cobalt, the hardness is high but resilience is relatively low, usually use to draw the non-ferrous metals with low speed. The resilience of high cobalt grades is better, they use for big bar, stainless steel and alloy steel.

A3: Coating can significantly improve the wear, impact, corrosion resistance of tungsten carbide wire drawing dies. TiN coating(thickness: 2-4μm), wear resistance is promoted 2-3 times. TiCN coating (3-5μm), the comprehensive advantages are better than TiN. DLC coating (1-2μm) with very low coefficient of friction.
