Product Description

Unground tungsten carbide strips are high-performance cemented carbide blanks supplied in standardized strip form, providing an excellent foundation for wear-resistant applications. As semi-finished carbide materials, they retain their full structural strength and sufficient machining allowance, allowing for cutting, wire cutting, grinding, and precision finishing according to specific application requirements. This makes them ideal raw materials for manufacturing high-precision wear parts and industrial tooling.

Through subsequent precision machining, these unground tungsten carbide strips can be transformed into reinforced components for critical wear lines, cutting edges, or high-abrasion areas of equipment. By strengthening only key wear zones, they help significantly extend overall equipment service life while effectively controlling localized costs.

Features of Unground Tungsten Carbide Strips

  • Exceptional Wear Resistance: Under abrasive wear conditions, the wear rate is only 1/50 to 1/100 that of special steels. With a hardness of HRA 85–92+, the service life is typically tens to hundreds of times longer than tool steel.
  • Excellent Impact Resistance and Deformation Stability: Even under heavy loads and high temperatures, the material exhibits minimal plastic deformation, maintaining precise geometry and dimensional stability over long periods.
  • Strong Adaptability to Harsh Operating Conditions: By adjusting the alloy composition, it can be engineered to withstand high impact, elevated temperatures, corrosive environments, and heavy-duty applications. Performance degradation under extreme conditions is significantly lower than that of conventional metals.
  • Significantly Extended Equipment Service Life: When used to replace steel in critical wear areas, maintenance intervals can be extended from weeks to years, substantially reducing downtime and maintenance costs.
  • Long-Term Precision Retention: When applied in guide rails, sliding tracks, or sealing strips, the extremely low wear rate helps preserve operational accuracy, minimizing precision loss and reducing the need for frequent adjustments.
  • Flexible Application and Installation Options: With precise dimensions and stable surface quality, the strips can be used as standard wear parts or further processed into customized components, improving overall operational efficiency.

FAQs

A1: Yes. For corrosive environments, such as chemical processing, marine applications or acidic/alkaline conditions, we offer the following:

  • Nickel-based cemented carbide: Significantly superior corrosion resistance compared to cobalt-based alloys.
  • Surface coating treatments: Corrosion-resistant coatings can be applied to certain grades.

Please specify the type and concentration of corrosive media when requesting a quote.

A2: Standard products: Typically low, calculated by weight (kg) or quantity (pieces). Consult sales for specifics.

For custom products, the MOQ is determined by mould costs and process complexity. We support small-batch trials.

  • Lead time: Standard specifications in stock: 5–10 business days.
  • Custom products: 15–30 working days (including mould development).

A3: We offer different grades:

As-sintered: A coarser surface suitable for subsequent welding or bonding.

Polished: A smooth surface with high dimensional accuracy (tolerance controlled within ±0.05 mm). Suitable for direct installation or use as precision components.
